FYI, Yacht Haven has only one cabin availble right now and it is very expensive. I am getting a cabin at Papin's resort. If anyone else wants a cabin here you can call (906) 493-5254, or visit papinsresort.com. It is possible that we will have some space in our cabin if anyone wants to split the cost and doesn't mind sharing.

For those looking for a place to stay on the Island Saturday night... I have found that many places are already full. Wa-Wen resort has cabin openings, camping, and RV hookups. They have amenities for offroaders, a big barn with a welder, air compressors, a pool, and more. the cabins are small and are nothing special but the prices are good. My group of four is staying here. If you get reservations here as well please let me know and I will see if we can get a group discount. FYI, it is very close to the trailhead. www.wa-wenresort.com/(906) 493-5445 or (877) 493-5445 Kevin

Two weeks till Drummond Island!!!
I will try to keep an eye on the Forum in case there are any questions. I will be on the island early Saturday morning to drop stuff off at my cabin. I will be at the island side ferry dock at 11:40 am to greet Jeepers when they get off the ferry. We will stop at the gas station for any last minute fills/purchases needed and then head straight to the trail head.
I look forward to seeing you all out there.

Drummond Island trip this weekend!! If you are planning on going and have not already chimed in please do so now so we know how many are coming. So far I have 6 vehicles for sure and I know of other hopefuls.
Don't forget, you must make the 11:40 am Sat ferry, or earlier, if you want to go on the Sat ride. Be early, the ferry fills up fast sometimes. I will be on the island already so I can drop stuff off at my cabing, and I will be waiting at the island side ferry dock at 11:50 am before heading to the trailhead.
Cookout at Wa-Wen resort at 6:00 pm Sat. A few of us are staying here...
Anyone coming out but skipping the ride? I recommend a trip up to the 'Fossil Ledges' on the north end of the island.

I'd love to make this but I probably shouldn't. I had 5th gear go out on the transmission. I'll be looking for pictures though!
